Who am I?

I’m 28 and live in Tampa Bay. You probably figured that out by the blog name.

I live in Countryside. If you don’t know where Countryside is, you aren’t really from around here. If you were, you’d know that we end up naming our suburbs by what mall they are nearby. Also see: Citrus Park and Tyrone.

I was born at Morton Plant, went to Countryside High, and graduated from Eckerd College. Most people would have moved away at some point, but I love this place too much.

Also, I don’t handle winter well. Seriously. I have Seasonal Affective Disorder in FLORIDA. If I lived any more North I’d start writing sonnets and shopping at Hot Topic.

What else about me? I work as a secretary by day and a freelance writer by… also day. Mostly when my boss isn’t paying attention.

I’ve had one serious relationship in my life. Lasted 6 years. Then he told me that I wasn’t the type of girl you married. Since I’m still single, I guess he was right.

I’m interested in dating, but it’s hard to get too motivated. Online dating was expensive and depressing. I don’t drink. I have been known to skip singles mixers to play Guitar Hero.

The truth is that it is really hard to meet people around here. Especially for women. That is part of the reason for this blog. To be a place for Tampa Bay singles to get find out about local events and to meet with others.

Because we’re all in it together. At least until a Hurricane finally plows into this place and sends it all underwater.
